Something the Parenting Manual leaves out (assuming we all received the same edition) is that, well beyond the man-made boundary of 18 years old, there will be countless opportunities to watch the sun set and rise again with your children - late night consolations, early morning feedings, making sure they’re safely transported wherever they go… and each time, we get to choose whether it is an obligation or invitation.
